Qualifications – Robert Glaser
Greene County Commissioner

Bob Glaser was born December 5, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio.  Bob married Barbara Roth in 1970 and has two children, Rob (30) and Melissa (27).  The son of a Local Greene County Businessman, Bob spent his youth working in the family business (Monarch Water Systems).  Bob has worked for Anixter as a Regional Vice President with responsibility for 90 million dollars in sales.  In 1991 Bob ventured out on his own, to begin operation of his family owned business, Stitch of Class.  Bob brings experiences in both large and small business environments giving him the capability to handle a variety of issues.

Public Life:

I’ve lived in Greene County for the majority of my life – proudly raising my family and establishing my home and business here.  I’ve been honored to serve for 10 years as a representative of the people of Beavercreek on City Council and as a Township Trustee. Greene County is a dynamic and diverse community, including everything from farm land to office & retail development. Future development must be balanced with preservation of green space.

My involvement in public office has always been about representing the average taxpayer.  In fact, the reason that I first ran for office came from frustration that my neighbors and I couldn’t to get our voices heard on local zoning issues!

As a result, I have worked hard to serve as a voice of the people, and I hope to continue to have the opportunity to represent the people - working for open, fair and accessible decision processes while maintaining sound fiscal responsibility as Greene County continues to grow.  With your support I can continue to serve the community as a Greene County Commissioner.

I voted not to pass the CEDA and TIFF agreements for “The Greene.”   Why?  Because I do not believe that the County, Township and the City of Beavercreek should be involved in the retail development business. I am the only remaining public official that stood up and said, “No!”

Having been elected as a Township Trustee, I worked hard to improve township financial record keeping – following through on my campaign goals.

Having retired, I will be working full time as a County Commissioner, it will not be a part time job for me.  I pledge to be fiscally responsible and not spend taxpayer dollars irresponsibly.              I have always been and will continue to be accessible to the taxpayers, I will work for you.
